Anyone know of an invert for a 2g tank I'd prefer nothing too small (e.g) ghost shrimp.

A single vampire shrimp, about three wood shrimp, a male/female pair of one of the smaller fiddler crabs, one large crayfish, one to three of any of the smaller FW crabs like Xingu or Rio Meta. One to three red claws in brackish water.
I am assuming a wide shallow bowl wit filter for the higher numbers of the crabs.

cool now here is the tricky part : find a fish store thats sells them well I have a vampire shrimp in my hex are you sure its OK saying that they can grow to 15cm? otherwise that is quite probable

The Atya gabonesis (vampire shrimp) gets to a max of 6" (usually 4-5" (10-12.5 cm) and likes a little salt, it can be kept alone in a 2 gallon tank like the Explorer like the one pictured, maybe with a small plant.
As for where to get one, you could try one of our sellers, Frank's Aquarium at this link, http://www.franksaquarium.com/filterfeeders.htm
He usually has them for $10 each but I don't know if he ships to the UK.

thats his aquarium my dad insists on goldfish :( but I'm winning the battle saying that when he kept them in 1gallon they lived 8 years then i told him the life expectancy for a goldfish lol

*cough* you are joking *cough* It would break through my tank it has the same striking force of a bullet

Maybe the true freshwater ghost or better yet bumblebee shrimp but that would be about it, here is a link. http://www.centralpets.com/animals/fish/freshwater_inverts/fwi4999.html

As an aside, a freshwater snapping shrimp, very close in appearence to a tiny mantis shrimp, was recently discovered in Malaysia, it is only about an inch long. There is another FW snapping shrimp (looks more like a true shrimp) in Australia that gets a bit bigger (2"), both live and lay eggs in freshwater but the eggs wash into the sea to hatch and the larvae travel back into freshwater as they grow. I don't think either species is sold.

nice, so do the bee shrimp eat their babies then?
