So I am sure many people here have encountered invincible feeder guppies before.

I have one in my brackish tank. I put it in while my eel was on a hunger strike and my other fish were stressed from fluctuating salinity hoping it would snap them out of it until I got everything under control.

They ignored the feeder guppy, and now two or three months later it is alive and healthy still in the tank. They eat any new feeder guppy though.

At work we have one in an african cichlid display tank. Somehow it was never eaten and it's been there for a few years.

Lastly at work, there is one in our GSP/F8 puffer tank. They also eat any new guppys but are ignoring all of the old ones.

I have only witnessed this phenomenon with feeder guppies. I have heard stories of it happening with goldfish too though.

Does anybody have any stores of their invincible feeder guppies?

In the wild, male Guppies actually tease predatory fish as part of their courting ritual. A group of males play "chicken" with larger fish in the presence of a female, and the last one mates with the female.

That's why they can last so long ;)
