So you can find a million different story of witch salt to use and how much, But I know most of the real bass people are on MFK so I wanted to ask what do you use and how much? I have a 125 gallon tank that has been up and running for about a month and is well cycled with a fluval 405 off one of my other tanks. I am putting (3) 3" Tems in it and the fish are healthy with nothing wrong with them so I don't need to add a bunch for illness or any thing.. So how much salt do you use in your tank and how often to you add it to the tank? Also do you use Iodized or non Iodized salt? Please help I really want to put the fish in today but I want to make sure the water is perfect before I do.. Thank you very much for any help you can offer with this Thread....

I use Diamond solar salt from hardware stores 40lb bag for $5. I'm not a die hard pbass guy but I have a couple. One full cup per 100g if fish are fighting and dropping scales and ripping fins. Every couple days I will dose. Other than that, no reason to add it into the tank

I was told for my wolf fish and bichir to do 1 tbsp per gallon but that sounded a little high so I went with 1:10 gallon and it worked out nicely

As a theraputic treatment I recomend 1 tablespoon per ten gallons of water non-iodized salt. Iodized wouln't hurt the fish however the anti-caking agent Yellow prussiate of soda, Tetrasodium hexacyanoferrate found in table is what you don't want. It's not the iodine that's the issue.

Unless there is some type of issue with the water etc. it isn't necessary to add salt.
