iPad Mini Retina w/ iPhone 5?

Hey all!

Short and sweet. I have an iphone 5, and a macbook that is 6 years old and needs dialysis haha. Its on its way out.

Im 23, done with college, and work on a private ambulance with some down time, or in the firehouse.

So what do you guys think? Should i get an ipad mini? I really dont need a whole new laptop. By that i mean i am loyal to my macbooks, and thats $1299.

Anybody have the combo listed above in my title and feel that its worth it?

I think i hit everything, haha.

I would say, as long as you have a working PC or Mac of some sort to hook your phone / ipad up to when it needs updating etc, and all you plan on using your new device for is strictly surfing the net etc, then yeah, possibly going with an Ipad > an actual mac book would be helpful...

BUT, if you have a need for an actual computer, then maybe go with one of the smaller macbooks > an ipad...
 
I think im going to get the mini retina in white, 16gb even though ill hate myself later for not going 32.

Im going to clean and dump a ton of stuff from my macbook to see if i can up its performance. Clean it up, make it somewhat attractive again. And put off buying a new laptop for as long as i can.

Yeah, i think this works haha.

Otherwise, try cleaning your macbook first before deciding, this way if you need a new macbook you'll know before making a large purchase with the 16G ;)

That was exactly my thought. Thanks homer. Probably going to delete some apps, pictures (iphoto is full of pictures from my canon camera that takes huuuge pictures), documents and random stuff. Delete all of my history and cookies online, and empty the recycle bin.

Theres days where ill sit in the ambulance for hours at a time and id like something bigger than my iphone for games, possibly learning to read music, books... I think its a good idea.

Plus my girlfriend really wants to face time on her ipad so naturally that influencing me haha!
