Hi guys, I'm new in this forum and new in monster fish keeping.

Ive been browsing through the web but I couldn't find any articles or pictures about Irian Tigerfish. Can anybody help me out?

Thanks!

are you talking about the Irian Tiger Datnoid? yes it is a datnoid that has a bright yellow stripe from head to tail other than that I believe that it looks very similar to the wide bar... came up on our order list for $100 retail...

That's my guess too: Datnioides campbelli aka New Guinea datnoid or New Guinea tiger (NGT). Irian jaya is the western (Indonesian) side of the island of New Guinea. The eastern side is the country of Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Im not sure if that was it but it could be that. My friend is importing them and I'm looking to buy one but I dont really have any info about them.

welcome aboard the MFK :). I believe you are talking about the new guinea datnoid. I would advise strongly against purchasing ANY fish without research. I am guilty of this also, and made mistakes of buying without checking what I am getting into. Search the web for NGT, or New guinea Dat, or Datnoides Campbelli.

This one? According to the site I found It is fairly uncommon in the trade and likes brackish water between 73-81 degrees F and gets to at least 18" long in the wild
