hello

one of my friend told me that there is iron deficiency in my planted tank because my the leaves are turning yellow. i was thinking of getting seachem flourish iron but the price is very high is not affordable. so i m thinking of doing a diy iron can u guys tell me which chemical is used as iron supplement.

I'd suggest using Fluorite or Eco-complete. Some people use potting soil underneath the main substrate, but you need to make sure you don't disturb the substrate or you end up with muddy water.

i m using the new amazonia substrate . and i dont think so it is possible to add the potting soil now. thats why i was going to add fe as fertz in liquid form.

In my Cichlid tank I have all of my plants in pots. I used MiracleGrow organic potting soil and topped the pots with gravel. After a little bit of cloudiness when I initially put the pots in the tank I have had no issues with the water being muddy. The gravel doesa good job of containing the soil.
