Hi fish lovers,

I need you advise. I bought home an RTG 2 weeks ago and it seemed to occasionaly spaz out. It looked like there was something on his tail that bothered him and he would try desperately to reach his tail with his mouth. Then yesterday, he discovered the bubbles from the filter and is now addidicted to rubbing his body against the bubbles while swimming against the current. Now when I turn of the bubbles for a while, his spastic behaviour is about 10 times worse and he seems to have got addicted to the soothing sensation of the bubbles. I seriously think that it is that microchip, and I want to remove it(to save my fish all this stress, he really is a loavable chap).
Have any of you removed thechip? How do I do it?
Thanks again

Well i def don't think its a good idea to remove the microchip.. U said there was something on his tail that bothered him.. Can u post some pics of him ??

If your aro is acting strange then i recommend you to test your water again, make sure everything is perfect before you find any sickness or parasite. If your aro keep bite the tail then i would say it might have tail biting problem ( or something like that, not sure what it called, you might want to check in arofanatics.com) . keep your water clean then your aro will be very happy.

its called tail biteing its a habit some aro develop it can turn very bad and the aro can do some real damage to its sell

you may be lucky and the aro will grow out of it

the only way to remove the chip is kill the aro and exporters ask for the chip to be returned when fish arive dead as giveing the chip back is proof the aro is dead
