I had a gulper with a serious fatal skin infection of some sort. His fins just disintegrated and he had lesions like stretch marks. He eventually started to throw his food up and died shortly after with a very bad bloat condition. Stomach blew up 5 times the size of normal and then rapidly went back to normal size.
I broke that tank down, scoured it, new water, etc.... I have 2 Irwini cats in there now and quite a few cichlids. A week ago 1 of the irwini got bloated and I'm like oh here we go. Now they both are pale and have lesions and won't really eat. All of my cichlids are very healthy and growing/eating etc. The water param is perfect.
None of my other tanks have sick fish.
