Absolutely.I have gotten rid of three nice sized megas despite their beauty for just that very reason.
Yeah, I'm wrestling with myself about parting with mine. I can see it laying there during the day but only get to see movement at night via my Web cam's night vision. My pteradoras is the same way.

I did have a fairly active niger cat a few years ago but they don't come close to megas in the looks department.

On a side note, if anyone can find any eye less irwini it will always be out looking for food since it thinks its always dark. Way more active. I met a guy at the LFS that had two, one with eyes and one without. The one without was twice the size of the other.
I had a TSN that was eye less and it to was always out and about, never hiding.
