i can get a good deal on an irwini, would it be compatible with my other fish?

TSN of same size
pbass- monos and tems
aro- slightly smaller (but not small enough for it to eat)
 
They would be fine with an irwini, however my irwini is somewhat of a shy eater. I hand feed him to make sure he gets his fill.

Your Pbass (depending on what you feed them) and TSN may out compete an irwini for food!! Just make sure he is getting enough to eat and you should be fine.

I also have a 24" TSN in with the niger (from your other thread) and I hand feed my niger due to the hardy appetite of my TSN.

I have started to hand feed my TSN as well!!

thanks, i really appreciate it! how long did it take your irwini to grow that large? is it still growing about 1" a month?
 
My irwini was 14" when I got him. I am sure he is a bit larger by now, but have not measured him since I got him.
 
irwini are pretty darned peaceful fish - you can keep anything with them really - just make sure that they get their fair share of food.

I have one in with some mahseer.

Growth is typically slow - maybe 6" in a year although I am certain that with copious quantities of food you could grow one faster. If you ahve the chance get a big one as they are very very impressive at a larger size

just grabbed one at about 7" or so for 30 bucks!!! ill get pics later ...

will they eat smaller fish? the guy i got him from said he only feeds him shrimp and pellets, but hes going into a tank with some other fish for now??? some of them are small and growing out, will that be ok?
im hoping since he just sits on the bottom and he will get fed pellets that he leaves my other stuff alone
