A friend of mine has been thinking about getting rid of a 5-6 foot 135 gallon (not sure on length sorry)

Anyway It got me thinking, well daydreaming actually...is that big enough for a midas and something else? Maybe a flowerhorn or something to go with him? Seeing the Big orange Midas' here have got me interested

Are they compatible? I think so as I seem to remember a few BIG tanks here with them together.

thanks to all! :headbang2

GO PACKERS!

i think that that tank is big enough for a pair of midas, so it might work with a midas and a flowerhorn if you get them young enough:D

i'd try it, even though some people on here will probably disagree with me:)

It's definitely a large enough tank for those two fish.

The only problem I can see is they may eventually turn on each other and fight to the death.

it's big enough, get some other fish too. Make sure you get dithers......Get about 5-7 fish and raise them small together, like 2 inches and less, then they will grow together...this provides a better possibility of compatibility. Then again, some fish never allow tank mates....Watch for the midas when mature.

I'd be a tad skeptical on a Midas plus a Flowerhorn in there. Some strong, resilient dithers should be considered to you want both those 2 cichlids.

I agree

If you want a flowerhorn and a midas I think it wil work, but add some convicts or firemouths or silver dollars for them to chase around and concern themselves with. I think it will work, but I think with just 2 fish one is always gonna be the dominant one and the other might be forced into a corner for its entire life. I think it should work though.
