Is 500 pounds of sand enough???

I am buying supplies for the 1200 gallon pond I will be building.

I have purchased 500 lbs of play sand (which I will wash). Will this be enough to cover the 10X10 footprint of the pond?

I was looking for a 1/2-1 inch deep sand bed. Will 500 lbs be enough for a 1/2-1 inch bed?

Go with quikrete commercial grade medium sand. Comes in 100lb bags. at 7 dollars a bag... already washed and kilm dried... i put it straight in my tank with no washing... no clouding at all.

Pool filter sand is also much better to use. Cleaning all that sand is going to suck.
