I have 2 young P endlicheri endlicheri that are a bit under 7" at the moment.

I am considering a custom built 5 footer (so I can place at least two tanks, side by side) with 2' width and 16" height (4" of substrate, 10" water column, 2" air gap).

I would locate this tank(s) in my office's internal patio. It will be protected from direct sunlight with one of those synthetic fabric sheets that allow some -but not all- light (and rain) through.

One tank for endlis, the other one for other Polypterus species I'll order in a month or two from Indonesia (I'm still deciding which).

itll be more than enough even if you get endlicheri congicuses which r the largest growing bichirs

It's more than plenty of room. Enjoy!

If its just for those two, should be ok and whats wrong with the endlis eyes in your avatar, they look a bit weird.

It's actually similar with the tank that I'm ordering right now for my endli, 150 cm x 60 cm x 50 cm, I've read from stickies that bichirs don't need that much of depth.
cheers

It's the flash of the camera. I'm still learning how to use it. Their eyes look healthy to the naked eye.
