Is a AfricanXAmerican Cichlid Hybrid Possible?

I thought I had read somewhere that it was, but I just googled it and couldn't find anything. Most of them just would not make sense but jewel cichlids (IMO) look alot like American Cichlids and I think a cross with them could look cool. Can they cross and if so do you know where I can see pics?

Nope not possible, i think if any where close enough genetically it would be some of the Tilapia species.
