Is a dead fish an OK feeder?

I lost a small cichlid the other day. I saw this morning two plecos munching on it. It (the cichlid) was not diseased or sick. It died from a fight and became to hard to reach to remove. I just let it sit there for a day and hope it would work its way out of a cave it was is. Instead it is getting eaten by some plecos. Just protein right?

yeah, if your sure it's not diseased and it is an appropriate food source for the species you have.

depends how it died. one of my baby festae died being picked on by another, it was instant oscar food. Baby jurupari died of ich...straight in the trash can

It should be fine for the plecos.
