Is a single Ultima 1000 adequate for a 375 gallon tank?

I'm looking to replace my sump with an Ultima II filter. The inside of my stand only has 28" height clearance so the 1000 will fit, the 2000 will not. Will a single 1000 be enough filtration for my 375?

Depends on stocking. They say 1200gph which would turn your tank over about 3 times per hour, not ideal imo. Like I said, it is heavily dependent on bioload.

Stock consists of 12 med to large plecos, 18 inch aro, 5 med/large parrots, 4 geos, and a large fei feng. I'm guessing 40lbs of fish

I ran one on a 450 tall for 3 years. I also ran a small sump with filter socks, ceramic rings and the heaters. Personally I think the sump was needed in my case. The filter socks kept the water a lot clearer than without. I could always tell when they needed to be changed. And I needed a place for the heaters.
I would still use the Ultima though, the back wash, water change feature is priceless.
You can dump 250 gallons in 10 minutes, a real time saver.
