right now i have a 90g with 2 penguin350s and they do a great job of filtering my water, but in the next 6 months or less i will be upgrading to a 125-180g tank. pet solutions has the xp3 for 100$ now and thats all i really can afford as i am trying to save for tank. is this filter worth 100$? i will be running all three together.

No way in hell IMO.
I gave $50 for mine and I've hated it ever since.
If I was to do it over again I'd build the hood for my tank to accomidate AC110s.
The XP3 seems too weak to me. And its messy to clean, I dont care what anyone says.

so maybe i should get 2 ac110's? could i just do away with the penguins then?
the tank will have an aro,ck,pleco,b.parrot, and 2 tinfoils. i like the bio-wheels on the penguins, my 90g now has zero ammonia and excelent water quality, but i also do 2 50% w/c a week. maybe 1 ac110 and my penguins, huh?
