Is Bank of America doing alright?

Hey guys,

Applying for jobs, and I am sending my resume to Bank of America. Just wondering how solid they are, with the current economy. Anyone know if they are good/bad?
 
I think applying at a bank is risky business right now. I am not quite sure what status Bank of America is but I would apply at the banks that are taking over other banks. Like Wells Fargo just took Wacovia or whatever.

Good idea...I didn't know Wells Fargo took over Wacovia!

I don't plan on staying here long, this is just a job to get me out of the house. But yea, I know it is pretty risky. I also have about 15 gov't job applications out atm. I am just throwing applications left and right, and waiting for a callback.
 
They are severely undercapitalized, as is most large lenders. Their main focus would be hiring customer service people and cutting back on staff that do not produce revenue, no backroom people.

They are too big to fail, but they are not hiring either.
 
Applying for any job if unemployed is probably for the best. If anything it will help your interview skills even if you decide not to accept the offer.

You're telling me that the unemployed are supposed to get a job? This is crazy!
 
i heard in my economics class that bank of America is doing the best in the country, not sure if that's much to brag about though.

Have your teacher review their call report and not listen to the hype they put out.

They just requested an additional 25 billion from the government.
 
taking on Merril Lynch was not as good an idea as the Chairman thought, that is where they are bleeding from
