Hi all I have recently acquired some mollies I know I know you guys would feed these to your monsters lol but I really do like them and read that they thrive in brackish water, and I would really like to make the change for them but my question is if Brackish water is safe for other types of species or will they get harmed in the long run ???Ii have a clown loach a rapheal cat and a common goldfish in the tank with them should I take them out before I convert to brackish or will they be fine also do platy's and swordtails live happily in brackish as well ???

You have species that require 3 different conditions. GF are a coldwater species, who have huge appetites & put out a TON of waste, making it difficult to keep other fish with them. The clown loach (a schooling species that can grow to 1') & pleco (grows to 18") are strictly FW fish. They will not appreciate any salt. The mollies are best kept in BW, but do somewhat well in FW, since thye have been bred in FW. Up to you, but I'd at least get that GF another tank & get some more CLs. You're gonna need a BIG tank though!
