I have two baby yellows, and I don't know if it's a good idea to breed them or not. If so, could I sell them on here or what? I haven't done muc h or any research on it, so I'm asking the experts of MFK.

Yellows are the black convicts of the african world.
Easy to breed. Everyone has them.

LFS around here takes 1inch Yellowlab here for 2 bucks each. you can do the same they take about 10-20 at a time. Also there is alot of LFS here you know what i mean

You should breed yellow labs at least once just for the bragging rights. Chances are you have siblings though. If you're serious about breeding them, you should get at least six juveniles from differant sources to ensure a broad and healthy bloodline.

what does LFS stand for? I haven't yet adopted the fish language.

^^ okay, that helps alot. Thanks!

how do I tell if it's male or female though?

The best way to sex them is to vent them. Google venting cichlids. You can also just wait and if one of them holds, it's a female.

Although not as reliable as venting them, males will always have the black dorsal fin (I think), females may or may not have the black dorsal fin.

I have a question about breeding them too. At what size will they start?

Actually, both males and females will have the black on the dorsal. If it doesn't then it is poor quality or a hybrid.

As far as breeding, they can start as early as 2" (sometimes even smaller).
