is coral good for a beginner

ummmmmm NO NO NO NO NO NO

do some searching on this site or other sites coral takes some skill to keep alive

if your new to reefing i would recommend getting all your chickens in a line first. A reef tank is demanding after time. May not seem like much from the get go, but adding more and more corals equals demand on the biological filter of your system. I recommend a good skimmer as well, being a tool designed for helping the water stay "clean" its something a newbie such as yourself could grow to love lol.

Ill do a quick run down on what you should be doing:

cycle your tank-tanks must be stable to support any type of life for the most part.

have all of your projected equiptment already running-this saves you from purchasing down the road and making drastic changes to a stocked tank.

Ensure that the coral you want, will grow under the light you have-until you have a light that can support the growth and health of coral, you should not purchase any corals.

heres some good starting information on starting a reef tank, or any tank for that matter.

if you run into any questions about starting or something that happens a few weeks into your cycle, go to the general salt section and you will get a ton of response on what should be done or what to look for etc lol. Good luck

well said , take your time and read first.
Make the decision of what type of tank you want (ie: softies/SPS/LPS)
Big tanks can handle the mixed reef if you run carbon but the chemical warfare between softies and SPS is amazing..
I pulled all of my leathers out of my tank and in a week the SPS are more polyped out..
RESEARCH. RESEARCH RESEARCH...
