I have a few tanks with some ornamental driftwood thats old. Like 10+ years old. I recently took a piece out and it littererly fell apart in my hands. This cant be good for the water quality. I have no problems in any of my tanks but i cant help but think this decaying wood is doing more harm than any good. Any feedback ????

thanks....

Is it decaying or just falling apart? It sounds like it was just falling apaty not decaying.

I really dont know ??? Its definately falling apart OUTSIDE the aquarium, but not really inside. It smells quite raunchy.
