Is feeding veggies to your fish a need to?

I bought a grammodes a couple days ago and he will not eat frozen pea's? Will he get just as much veggies in an algae wafer then a pea? Or how about NLS?
Do you absolutely need to feed your cichlids veggies? or can it be algae wafers and pellets?

its not necacary to do it most fish food has all the vitamins they need.

like markwright said, it isn't necessary, but adding the variety to the diet is always a good thing. and finding out which veggies (and fruits!) your cichlids enjoy most is a fun process. i found out that my Chuck (paratilapia polleni) likes bananas, lol.
