Is fresh bamboo plant safe?

I have a garden w/ a lot of fresh bamboo plants. I was wondering if its safe to use for the aquarium as floating plants decor & to keep my black aro calm

Should be OK if not sprayed with insecticides, etc, and if not right next to big highway with too much car fumes...

Good points kujiraya and mickey could you post some pictures of your bamboo in your garden if you don't mind?I have tried them in my backyard before but they just die.

So i take it your going to grow them in your tank?

The reason i say this is because i've heard people say the inside will get moldy / rot because of the hollow space in each segment of the plant...

Algae will kill your bamboo so look out for that, otherwise I never had an issue.

Sorry should clarify it will rot / get moldy if its dead bamboo placed inside...
