I won an eheim 2250 on ebay. I read they can be upgraded to the 1260 pump. I want to use the 1262 pump because its on sale for 129.99 and the flow will be 900gph. Anyone see an issue with this, like too much pressure on the canister itself? I don't want to ruin it, but do want higher flow rate

It won't damage your canister, the only thing its the contact time with the bacteria.
All the 3 big eheim canisters can be upgrade because of their design, they have the same lid 2250<2260<2262, any pump can be installed, they are not pressure canister unlike ocean clear canisters, so yes go a head an do it if thats what you want to do, you will need to change also the intake elbow.
I modified my 2250 with the 1260 pump, later going with the tunze 1073,040 pump uses 42 watts and produces 790 gph.
Here its the link to the mod

Thanks Bro, the plan is to get the 1262 pump because its on sale at Big Al's and put it on the2250. I plan on getting a 2260 eventually and figured when I get it I'll switch out the pumps again.
