is hazelnut wood safe?

I take it that your using this for aquawood? If so then I would say yes it is. Most broadleaf trees are good to use, but make sure the wood is good and dead. If not,it can take a long time to get some of the 'crap' out of the wood itself. Go look around and find some old dead pieces you like. Make sure they aren't rotting, basically smell it and if it smells bad then leave it. Next go basically scrub it and clean the dirt off it. then you can either bake it in the oven or boil it if its small enough to get rid of the tannins. even after doing that your gonna need to soak it in some water for a good while to both getg the rest of the tannins out and to make it So the wood sinks. change the water once every two days and do it till the tannins stop coming out then it should be good to use. this process can take from a week to months depending on the size of the wood, tree species etc.

sorry for some typos on post above,I'm doing this on my phone as I sit waiting for my gf to get out of the doctors lol
