IS HE BLIND???

hey,
my little talking catfish used to have lovely big clear eyes, last couple of days, hes actually been coming out (which he never does) and his eyes are all clouded over like catyrax (sp)
got some pics, sorry they arnt too good, awkward position.

A clearer pic would be more helpful, but it does look like he could have cataracts; and if so, it doesn't look like there's enough opacity to blind him, though his vision would be impaired and/or distorted though.
 
tbh he never comes out from underneath the bogwood...thats the first time i have seen him since i got him 6months ago! could be he just got used to darkness lol...happened with the greenland shark
 
yep hes got JMC catfish pellets but never seen him eat although i assume he does lol
just incase its where my FH has gone for him (hes having a bit of a power trip atm) or its any types of infection, i will be doing a 70-50% water change, up the temp a lil bit and stick in some salt....which will also help my other fish that have fallen victims to the FH
 
i have had my irwini for over 6 months and have never seen him eat.
i assume he does though, lol
 
you need to add 1 TBS of salt for 5 GAL and it will go away
if you dont it can get popeye
and you dont whant that
 
they have salt added at every water change any.
but iv just done a water change and iv noticed hes bleeding around his mouth but i dont know why? i think he may be blind because he has been swimming in to everything but i dont have anything that could scratch him.

so i introduced him in to my emergency tank (over an hour as its a bit warmer) which i added salt to last night, and just going to hope for the best. but tbh it looks like hes on his last fins.

how often do i add salt? added 1tablespoon (if that) last night to it and its a 10 gal.

just add 1 tbs for 5 gal
and whith a whater change add salt to what you change
