Hi everyone. I have a big super dragon and he has colors that I've never seen before. When I first got him, he was lighter in color and his colors were more uniform. Know he's a splotchy red and black. I got him about 6 months ago and when his color started to get splotchy, someone said he was fading. That was about 5 months ago and still no fading. How long can it take to fade? He's also healthy and eats like a pig. I currently have him in an 186 gallon tank with a pleco, and 2 oscars. It's funny. One day he looks cool to me and another day he looks ugly. Is he still able to fade and what does everyone think about his colors? Thanks in advance, Ed.

The fading process can take a long time, depends on the fish. Sometimes even years, although at the rate your fish is fading, I would say he won't take years. Keep your water parameters in check & be patient, he looks like he's going to be a stunner.

I agree. He's gonna be a nice fader. There's no guarantee that he'll fully fade, but I'm sure he will. Just be patient.
