Here are some pics, tell me what you think. Somebody got tired of dealing with his crap and let him have it I suspect. He used to be the boss and feared nobody, now he is busted up. :( I am guessing it was the Bocourti, because he is the only other one that aggressive with some decent sized chompers and he looks perfect. The FH has a good sized chunk of white meat hanging off him with red meat visible underneath. He acts healthy otherwise and swims fine showing no signs of weakness or injury. Is there anything I can do for him? It looks like it may heal just fine, but I want to help him if I can. He is in the 400 gallon and there are two huge pieces of driftwood in there with a ton of rock, so there is no way I'll catch him, and adding salt might be kinda ridiculous for that size tank. Think he'll be OK?

Adding salt isnt too bad on big tanks just buy solar salt, Looks like he'll live

He should be fine as long as it doesn't get infected. Keep the water super clean. If you notice the start of an infection, you can do a microbe-lift dip. It's supposed to be safe as a preventative in the main tank, but I've had problems with it effecting the bio filter before.

Poor baby :(
He looks like he'll pull through alright though. That's a good bite he took & hopefully he's learned being a bully doesn't always work.
If he was boss of the tank @ one point after this he'll most likely be chased around by the new boss of the tank (Bocourti). So if you're not going to try and separate him by adding a divider I'd keep a close eye on him & make sure the Bocourti doesn't finish killing him.

Good luck

Well my Oscar survived a TERRIBLE case of columnaris so when i compare my Oscars columnaris was abut 4 times deadlier so he should live. my Oscar has also hurt himself by going crazy and he recovered in a matter of days. but none of my Oscars wounds were as bad as your FHs wounds. So i think he will be fine.

Looks like he got put in his place for awhile. I expected some carnage from the post title, he doesn't look too bad but it'll probably leave a scar.

i buy 40 lb bags of salt for 5.69 at the store.....Use mortons solar salt in the blue bag.....no chemicals and additives....99.9% salt......works perfect!!!
