Is it possible for Hystrix to breed at around 7-8"??

A friend of mine has some Hystrix that came from Pedro last year.

He has 1 male 1 female. THe male is only 7" but is hung... He has fully developed claspers now. (he was in my pond for a few months this fall with my Pregnant female motoro and it did him good..lol)

His female might be 7.5"-8" He had to seperate as the male had chewed up the female pretty bad, he just re-introduced the 2 today and called me to say that the male is trying to flip the female hystrix.. You think it is possible to happen at this size?

If both mature I don't see why not.

i dont see why not. if the male is mature at that size why couldnt the female be. they are a smaller breed so wouldnt they mature at a smaller size?

I hope so. Good luck to your friend! My 6.5" male has claspers, but they are tiny.

I think it is def possible.... motoros at about 10" the females seem to mature. I think hystrix could def mature at 8"... however when born the pups would only be about 2". Plus I am willing to bet by the time she would give birth she would be 10" no problem.
My female motoro went from 11" to 15" in 6-8 months (2 and a half pregnancies) I think thier body will grow to a better size
