is it a bad idea to build a glass tank

i want to build a glass aquarium because the size is hard to find and would have to be custom
i got a quote on thicker starphire glass and it is way cheeper than buying a normal glass tank do you think i should bite it and buy it or build it i want both pro and cons of building the tank thanks

heres a better idea. Make a acylic, it will be alot lighter. And you wont hate yourself when you have to move it around. I almost did glass baffles in my sump. But my LFS saved me

I've built a couple of glass tanks. It's not very difficult. I'm not sure what your concerns are though.. your question is pretty vague.

I suggest you build a small tank first. Get an idea of the required skills and tools before spending a lot of money on starphire.

i will NEVER BUY ACRYLIC
with that said my grandpa is a glazer and can cnc cut my glass it will be easy and the reason for making it is it will be a bow front on the midle of the rectangle

glass tank is easy to build. I've done it many times, just have to select the right thickness for the right size. Just go easy on the glue.
