Et All...

I have 3 rays all purcagsed as P. Reticulata. One may be a morph but I am not sure... so I ask the MFK(s).... The colour is much darker and the pattern is different, hopefully you can tell by the photos. Both are females I purchased then as teacups about 4-5 inches. They eat the same foods.

Thanks

Nice Reticulata.. I'm jealous. Look really healthy. Reticulata have many different morphs, I currently have 4 different morphs that I am growing out.. the blue under pattern on the one is interesting, it seems that this can be a 'stressed' under pattern on alot of rays, but that ray definitely isn't stressing it looks like.

The one on the left looks like grapedinox's big female reticulata.. It has a very distinct pattern, and eats more variety of foods, more vigorously, and has grown at an accelerated rate..

It makes me wonder how much mixed genetics you see in Reticulata.. (ie: a retic containing 1/10th castexi will have some castexi characteristics like being a rowdy fatass)

Well I would have to say that the Male/Female with the lighter pattern might fade their color because of your substrate? Just a hunch..

but for some reason the other morph doesn't?

Not much talk about P. Magdelanae and it's true identity. This ray comes from the same rivers (Magdelana & Atrato) and could likely hybridize or just be a 'retic' morph that we haven't distinguished as P. Magdelanae. I do believe it's one of the 18 nominal species?

Oh how I wonder about Magdelanae.. (rayman?)

so that light one miles is not stress???? nice rays...

From what he says its not stress.. so I think its the substrate? Tough to say? I have noticed my rays change colors depending on substrate (barebottom vs. dark sand)

Great looking retics!!
