Is it a threat.

I was wondering if my new 12in channel cat would be a threat to my 5in marble goby.

Depends on the thickness of the Goby. I know they can get pretty fat, so...you might be able to get away with it, but I want to say don't risk it.

I just added alot of small hiding places so it should be okay.

yes, it is a threat if it will fit in its mouth. but if you put in hiding spots it should be ok.

I would say its a threat... my 9" channel is eatting 5" silversides, so I'd say a 12" channel would be able to eat something bigger than that... and the goby having a thicker girth would be that bigger part... I don't know if id chance it...
