Right now my RTC is roughly 3 - 4 inches in length. He's taken some frozen shrimp and some live food before. I happened to collect up some small snails from the pond near here, and I know that the Walking Catfish (which is a native catfish) eats them also, so I was wondering if it is alright for the RTC to eat them.

Can't see why you cannot feed them snails. Crush them with a hammer but do not use your fingernails or you risk getting secondary infections.

yeah i want him to get used to a variety of foods. I've made frozen blocks of shrimp, crab, fish and chicken liver, using a meat processor. I make a combination of everything also, but I also want him to get used to some live foods, mainly crustaceans.
