Is it Chinese?

My pike started out orange with a red tail fin..he has greyed out but still has a very red tail fin...Is he a true Chinese Pike?

sounds like you're describing an "orange pike" or Xingu 1

Nope, 100% not a chinese pike. Crenicichla are strictly SA/CA cichlids.

If you are indeed talkin about Crenicichla sp. 'xingu I' then thats normal. Chance are you have a male.

But....this thread is pretty pointless without some pictures.
