I bought him a week and a half ago. He was a little worse for wear in the LFS and after a few days at home even though I only saw him twice, his tail had definitely healed and he seemed fine. Until now. He had a certain hiding space, but after a tank clean and a rearrange, he is completely gone. I have checked everywhere, at least 3 times! My substrate is gravel with sand in some places, so its possible he may have dug. But after a quick stir in the sand I seriously think hes gone. I have checked my outlet pipes, the filter, everything. I have a tank top he cannot have jumped out. I am reading that it is common to loose them, but more often than not, I am finding threads to find they have simply died and been eaten. Nobody was being aggressive to it, it just hovered about at feeding time once or twice and boom. That was it :( I have an arowana in the tank but he is way too small. Not very aggressive yet and the KF was well established under a clay pipe. I must have spent 2 hours looking for the little guy today. He is/was about 4in. Has anybody experienced this and seen them survive? I am worried!

How small is the arowana? I doubt he ate it. I lost fish for months in my tanks lol until they got bigger. Might be stuck in one of the pipes... I would just wait it out and hope for the best!

Unfortunately I suspected this happened. I have lots of plecs so yeah :(

Sorry if it passed on. I've had a few fish play extreme hide and go seek with me though haha. I was so upset cause my catfish were gone. Low and behold I find them like 3 weeks later, hiding in a piece of decor in a dark section haha
