i've peocock chiclids, about 10 pairs and they are quite small. use to feed them live gappies and it's very difficult to find them now. start feeding them beef-heart and the growth rate has droped. what can i do for that ? ? ?

Depending on the size of the fish, try frozen or live brine shrimp or bloodworms. I dont know why the growth rate would change after switching the diet!

they r too big for the brine shrims. i 've introduced 3 same size flowerhorns to the tank and i see a competition for the food. Earlier the peacock didnt even tasta a bite but now they eat. but i'm kinda fed up with flowerhorns as they are aggrasive and brake the balance of the tank. I've too many flowerhorns. more than 30 at the moments.

lol. just feed it directly to them then they all get the same share. there are plenty of things you could feed them that are not live. you can probably get them on pellets of some sort. beef heart is a good start though

make sure your water changes are up to par with the fish you keep. peacock cichlids ( or pbass ) are big fish that eats a lot and therefore produces a lot of waste. Big water changes would be beneficial for its growth.

How big is your tank?
Have you check your water parameters?
How about your filtration and/or aeration?
Have you tried feeding small market fish or shrimp?

All of the above, if adequate, you will not have problems with their growth, High ammonia/nitrates/nitrites will stunt your fishes growth.

Water quality and fish food are two most important as well as tank size.

30 flowerhorns? you must have one helluva big tank to contain all of those fishes! Or are they housed separately? Maybe you will need to separate the flowerhorns if your tanks is not big enough. You will need a big pool to contain all of those!:grinyes:
