Is It Legal To Keep Brown Smooth Hound Sharks In California?

I was wondering because they seem like a really cool shark and since theyre the smallest Smooth-hound getting about 2ft-2.5ft in aquaria, Id like to have one of them in my 215g after its done being cycled. I see them online but I also know that they're native to california and I'm not very knowledgable about the saltwater restrictions in cali, but I do know that having native freshwater species is illegal. If they are illegal could anyone please list what other sharks arn't legal in california? Thank you

Thats why Im taking the precaution before I get any deeper into the idea of keeping one haha, from my knowledge ALOT of freshwater fish are illegal but I dont know any saltwater fish that are illegal except for undersized fish you catch and protected species

Check your rules and regs...Im sure there are some people in the shark area that could help you out. I think there are a couple guys that have hounds...so they can answer your question.
