is it legal to own a pet bob cat? ive been looking online for a bob cat kitten. if they are legal do i need a license to keep them? i really want one so bad!!!! :nilly:

depends on state and local area. yes you need a license and i believe there inclosure must be inspected yearily by federal regulators(thats my area atleast)

It sucks trying to own a big cat in CA. Unless they've loosened up since I left, you're required to have a license, the enclosure has to be inspected before a license can be issued (you'll be charged for this), the premises must allow 'spot' unannounced and announced inspections (you can be charged for these, too). The canines must be removed, and (depending on county) the cat must be declawed.
If you live in an incorporated part of a city/town, the chances of getting a license approved drops tremendously.
I got put throught the ringer when I tried getting the state's OK to bring my bobcat to the state. I wound up leaving him with my dad because I didn't want him mauled for the sake of a license that had to be renewed annually and didn't guarantee I wouldn't be hit with any new ordnances.
This all happened in San Diego County.

A teacher of mine in high school had a pet raccoon it was the coolest thing ever.

In high school my bio teacher had a bobcat pet and she would go on and on about how they make horrible pets and how she hated hers. *shrug*
