Well dudes, Finnally I got the FH bug and got this male FH:

I have the intention to pair him with my fader female.

Nevertheless I dont know if im just being a total noob or is it an "easy" task to perform.

When tossed this guy into the tank they started to fight as soon as they saw each other thus I had to put an splitter, now they both are safe in their share of the tank.

I plan to leave the splitter some weeks to see if eventually they get accostumed to each other and pair...... is this possible to happen according to their first reaction or am I just wasting my time and should get rid of one to just end up with a solo FH?.

What's your opinion/advice???.

It's possible if the bottom one is female. Just pay attention to them and remove the divider once in a while to see if they get along.

How big is the tank?

i have the same problem with my male, wasent able to pair him with any one but u have to jus take your time
maybe with the spliter they will come around
have u vented the (female)?
looks female but never hurts to make sure

Might be possible after a couple weeks, I dunno though...bump 4 u

Thanks man!!!.

The bottom one is a female. Tank is a 85 US gal.

Im almost sure it is a female however to be 100% sure I'll have to vent it, next weekend Im cleaning the tank so I'll ven her just to asure and not waste time anymore.

Thanks for replies dudes.

If any of you know some sort of trick just mo make them "fall in love" I'd appreciate....:D Maybe some romantic dinner with candles and neapolitan music would help ....

I hate to say it, but breeding these two doesn't sound likely. In the past when I have bred fish, they don't usually fight and they pair up fast. The male may pick on the female, but other than that no real fighting. Are you even sure this "female" really is a female. You can't just throw in a random flowerhorn and expect them to breed. For all you know you could have thrown in two males and that is why they are fighting. If I were you, I would sex both your fish to decide if they are a male and female, or you need to find a flowerhorn of the opposite gender.
