here is my story friday i got my female rd for 2 days my male wanted nothing to do with her he kept her in the corner if the tank this mornin i woke up to feed them befor going to work and she was swimming around. (improvment) i get home from work and watch them for a bit she was flaring gills and shaking her head like she was a seizures like 5 times and picking up gravel and spiting it out and the male and female were brushing up to eachother and then the male would pick up gravel and spit it out

lol...i guess you can say it's love. but now they are mates, and since thats the case, no more fish will be allowed with a red devil pair. but good luck.
im very confuzed now if any one can help me iv been watchn my fish all night now thay have been tumbling around eachother and then they will lip lock and brush sides and start over and over for about half an hour theres a few pits they have dug and cleared the gravel that was on one of my rocks i dont now if i should be worried or are they just rough breeders
They're testing eachother to see whether the other's a suitable enough partner. It's very common for a pair to liplock before sealing the deal.
I wouldn't marry I guy unless I was sure he could handle me.
