Hi there, i am setting up my tank right now,
just put conditioner in it, the owner of the store told me to put some salt in it too, but i am wondering is it necessary to do that? what else do i need to be able to make a good home for snakehead? Thanks

Check the pH , add salt if you have low hardness in your tapwater.

Our water is diff over here , so just you should ask someone close to where you live , no matter where you are in the world tho it helps to check for pH/NH3/NO2/NO3/PO4/hardness etc

Cheers

Hi,
no you dont need to add salt in any Channa tank they dont need it.

Lots of plants real and fake are a must to make them feel happy and secure in their enviroment ,you dont want nervous fish thrashing around every time you go near the tank.
Avoid large water changes it can kill them and no matter what species you have make sure the lids is well secured and even the smallest holes(for airlines and heater cables are plugged or they will find away out).

What species are you getting?

yep, what freakdaddy said. so did you find the maculata?

nah, actually i bought a micropelts, going to upgrade to bigger tank when it grow bigger. i am using real plants, do i need a Bristlenose Plecostomus( the sucking fish) dont know if thats the right name.. to clean the algae? or it is going to be eaten....lol
