its normal for gars to attack things they think they can eat yes,
and if your selling him this should have gone in the buy and sell forum

yes, this is normal in that at these early stages these (normally large-growing) fish have a tremendous drive to feed. that and clearly the 12" fish can take down 4" Id-sharks... it seems like this is more an issue of doing your research on the fish than it seemingly being the fish's fault. in the mean time, i would move any smaller fishes to a different tank--

so let me get this straight...you hate your predatory fish, because it is doing what it is supposed to do naturally. as stated above...RESEARCH goes a long way!

dude next time do some rsearch before you buy so you wont hate your fish that type of stuff is always going to happend not only with gars but with any predatory fish you keep

with predatorty fish you have to keep almost the same size just be sure it doesnt fit in their mouth and even like that their fish that can fit food twice their size

sorry to hear this man. Longnose are my favorite species. Like everone else said though, if you would have done a bit momre research you may have realized that these fish are known to take down tankmates...now take a deep breathe, and head over to the buy and sell forums and try to find this guy a better home.

we'll it wouldn't of taken the smartest person alive to tell you a 12'' fish can eat a 4'' fish that is 1/3 the length of the gar try geting one atleast 1/2 the gars length
