Reason I'm asking is because I noticed my adult fishes eat with more gusto when fed this way. I feed them 6 days a week. No feeding during water changes. If it's ok then I'll change their feeding schedule. Thanks.

Yes esp if their big! A big cause of fish death is overfeeding and fatty deposits, i feed everyother day just enough for them all to eat!

Agree with f1vet. And especially if they are predators. In nature it's not so easy, and a fast every few days is the norm.
If they are grazer, this may be a bit different, but if they are, algae and detritus may be the normal fair, in that case simply allowing edible algae to grow on the back glass or decor is sufficient.

I like to allow all fry, grow out, and breeder tanks to get overgrown, where the fish can graze constantly

I find just once a day is good. Unless they are really small and I want them to grow fast I fed them allot more

Feeding every other day or even every couple of days is fine.. the most important thing is to feed babies on a steady daily routine.. but adult fish are better off being fed this way simply because water quality is the most important aspect in fish keeping.. the excess food and excess waste has more to do with fish lack of health then eating.. not to say that food isn't a major factor in fish health..it certainly is...but it is secondary to water quality .. it wouldn't matter how much good food you fed if the water was not pristene condition.. thats the key to fish living a long healthy life.

Hey everyone, thanks for your replies and taking the time to explain it further. And yes, I'm referring to my pred comm. Silver aro, oscars, ck, etc.
