I have done this before on a tank i had by using 1.5" pipe on a 170g tank ( flow turn over 8x ). Now as i have all the parts again here to hand will the same size and pipe work be on on a 140g, i wont b having a big a turnover as last time as i only need 5 x and the 1.5 gives a vertical of 1300gph.
I am thinking of fitting a inline tap before it enters the sump to slow it to what i need, but will this make it run louder? I am thinkig it will make it quiter as not running as a full flow?
