Is it ok to start cycle with using stress coat?

Hey everybody, my empty tank has been running for a fw days now. Yesterday i added pond matrix to the sump...and today I added 2- 24 inch bubble wands in the tank and in the sump. The only problem Im having is that im unable to get stress coat today...will it be ok to start the cycle or should I wait to get stress coat to add to the aquarium and then start adding the drops from dr tims ammonium chloride?

Dont know if it helps but I have aquarium salt...if i could just add that now and then begin cycling...
 
No, going to be prerforming a fishless cycle...im reading one of the pages where it tell's you how to cycle..however it also says to dechlorinate the water...which is why I'm stuck lol I don't think it will be to big of a problem especially since the tank has been runinng for the past few days....but Id rather wait for the "go ahead" from you guys

You're ok to start now, the chlorine was gone after 24hrs.

Yeah... You are going to have to dechlorinate. The cycle won't start (BB won't grow) with chlorine/ chlorimine in the water. The salt doesn't matter, though.

Edit: As bassguy said, the bubble wands will off gass the chlorine. However, if your water has chloramine, it needs to be removed chemically.
 
I would de-chlorinate. If your water system uses chloramine it won't evaporate.
 
I think you are making that up. I've lived all over NY and all the water is chlorine treated

Lol thanks for your input guys...confused. So guess its a 50/50 shot of adding dechlorinator before cycling. I aked this mainly not just because I don't have prime nor stress coat on hand right now...but heard they can break down ammonia which we dont want for cycling...we want the BB to do the breaking down this period of time..
 
At this point you should be good to go.
