Soo... lately there has been lizards around my house... and I've caught a couple of them and they're no bigger than my pinky finger.... and I was wondering if it is ok too feed them to my Oscar...

Please Help & Reply

Thank You!!!~

sounds like little anole lizards. I think people buy them specifically as feeders for snakes and such. I fed my jag a frog from the yard the other day lol

While it might be alright the one thing to take into consideration is that those lizards eat insects that may have some form of pesticides on or in them. The lizards over time have built immunities to this but it may have an adverse effect on your fish. But you can buy anoles as feeders and those wouod be fine.

Its never a good idea to feed your fish anything wild like that, you just don't know if your going to introduce something into your aquarium.

If you spray you yard at all then dont. I have fed them before with problems but we dont spray. Usually any lizard that gets caught in here is fish food.

I wouldn't do it. There have been some good reasons why already stated.

The cost in buying good food is nothing compared to buying the med to fix a problem you introduced into your tank by feeding your fish random lizards.

But its your fish and your choice.
