is it possibal for a ancient lungfish to stay alive in a hard sandstone like mudrock in ocotillo wels california becuase i have a huge mud rock and i put it in some water and air bubbles started coming out of some tiny holes in it.:WHOA: the rock is going in my fish tank

Uh..i had some trouble understanding what you said, but the bubbles are just trapped air.

bubbles are normal to come off new decor.

there are cracks in a large sandstone like mud stone(mud that has hardened with age) and i put it in a tub of water and there were air bubbles comming out of the cracks then some popping and gurgleing noises and water began to get sucked into the rock and it appears to be hollow on the inside anyways im putting it in my fish tank

I heard that a particular lungfish can survive 4 years out of water. I dont know if this is true for all, but theres a particular one that will go into a hibernation type state and will secrete some kinda slime coating to keep it moist and can survive 4 years like this.

I was watching a special about them and it showed lungs out of water and some will dry up in mud and whenever it rains again they become free.

awesome info
