I have a 130 gal glass tank. I want to run a sump filter but I don't want holes drilled in my tank. Is there a way to run a hose over the rim of the tank down to a sump then pumped back up to tank without drying out or overflowing the sump? Any Ideas?

it's a yes. google overflow or diy overflow or hang on the back overflow...

DIY HOB overflows are pretty easy, If you're not that handy (doesn't take much honestly) or dont have much in the way of tools they can be purchased for not toooo much as well.

here is a sump under 40 dollars. :D [YT]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FkT9EiY9v60&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FkT9EiY9v60&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/YT]

In that vid... if the water level in the sump falls, the syphon COULD break in the overflow... The other (outside of tank) end of the syphon tube should be lower than the in-tank end and not be allowed to get air.

The valve will hold the water when closed but, if air were to get into the "out" tubes at any point, you could have an overflowing display tank.

I think? lol
