Is it possible to breed a red spot severum??

I really want to get into breeding, I adore the colors of my red spot are the fertile? Or shall I breed my one with a gold? Could anyone help please!

I think the problem with some of the severums is poor parenting more than infertility. So the biggest challenge is getting a compatible pair with skills.lol...

I'm going to get 2 red spots and 4 golds and find a pair, put them in their own tank. And carefully remove the eggs once laid so the parents can't get to them.

I've never had a problem with severums and parenting. They are some of the best cichlid parents out there, IMO. The problem with super reds is that either A) they show no interest in spawning altogether, or B) they spawn but do not produce fertile eggs. Some people have had success pairing them with golds.

We had luck spawning them but could not keep the fry alive. The longest we had fry survive was about a month and a half.
I think they may be genetically weak due to line breeding for the color.
